Our Expertise

Health systems strengthening drives our response to the tuberculosis epidemic. In over 30 countries, Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is working with interntational, national, and local partners to strengthen the capacity of health systems, national TB programs, and health managers to improve the lives of those affected by TB and prevent the spread of the disease. Our work addresses all elements of the health system: service delivery; leadership and governance; medical products, vaccines, and technologies; health financing; health information; and human resources. MSH supports universal access to treatment, care and prevention for all, but especially for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.

At MSH we focus on people at all levels of the health system: individuals who make decisions about their health, community health workers who bring services close to the home, facility health workers who administer essential health services, and government officials who set standards and allocate resources.

To achieve stronger health systems, MSH advocates for TB in these four areas:

  • Increase funding for TB health priority areas
  • Support efforts to increase our research and focus on TB in children and infants
  • Elevate our TB efforts globally, by emphasizing the role of TB in an integrated health system (such as TB/HIV services)
  • Support efforts to increase our research on TB and gender
