Universal health coverage – easier said than done?
On Friday, November 2, MSH Director of Finance and Accounting David Collins and MSH Senior Technical Officer Zina Jarrah presented during Concurrent Session 11 on costing.
Collins discussed: “What will it cost to scale up basic packages of primary health care to cover everybody?”
Zina Jarrah discussed: “Is it cheaper to treat child pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria in the community?” And gave some answers from Malawi and Rwanda.
Innovations in data collection and analysis
Later on Friday, MSH Program Officer Megan Rauscher spoke during the innovations in data collection and analysis concurrent session on: “Translating epidemiological data and health systems analysis in Uganda to improve the national drug kits system: A targeted, cost-effective approach to universal health coverage in MNCH Populations.”
Knowledge Management and Health Systems Strengthening
Sara Wilhelmsen discussed “The Critical Role of Knowledge Management Approaches in Overall Health Systems Strengthening: A case study from Malawi.”

MSH Global Technical Lead on Fragile States, Dr. Steve Solter moderated a panel on the challenges and success of health systems functioning in fragile states.
